Collectible Dolls

By Jason Gluckman There is such a variety of collectible dolls on the market. Two of the most popular collectible dolls are Barbie dolls and porcelain dolls. These two categories offer dolls in a wide array of styles and types that it would be nearly impossible to complete a collection. For an avid collector, the way to go is to find something to focus his collection on. Collectible Barbie Dolls Starting with the first Barbie doll, created in 1959, these dolls are only increasing in popularity. Nowadays, you can find Barbie dolls specifically designed for collectors. If you are just getting started you may want to find an expert or do some reading to tell you which types of Barbie dolls make the best collectibles. If you are interested in collecting Barbie dolls there are plenty of resources online that will help get you started. You can purchase dolls on special collectors websites, online auction sites, and other places. You can also comb yard sales in your area. Sometimes people have collectible items in their possession without realizing it. Porcelain Dolls Starting in the 1800s, dolls started to be made out of porcelain. Now, they are amongst the most popular collectible dolls. Porcelain dolls vary in style, shape, and size. The type you want to collect depends on you. To make your collection more meaningful choose something to focus on, such as porcelain dolls with a wedding theme or those that come from a specific land. Of course, you dont need to specialize. You can always purchase the collectible dolls that you simply like. Other Collectible Dolls Of course, if you want to collect dolls you arent restricted to either Barbie Dolls or porcelain dolls. You can find dolls that are designed as toys. Some older dolls that were designed as toys may have some value. There are also dolls that are made to look like cartoon or comic book characters. If you want to be a serious collector, choose what interests you first then find the dolls within those categories that have the most value. He Loves Me - He Loves Me Not

By Toni Coleman You had the most romantic date the other night. You went to a nice restaurant, where you laughed, held hands and shared good conversation. Afterwards, you went back to your place and enjoyed what seemed like a night of intimate connecting. It all felt so right and was a welcome relief after all the recent stress in your lives and your relationship. But it has been several days and he hasnt responded to your emails or phone calls. What is going on? This scenario replays frequently amongst the single and dating crowd and I receive a lot of email asking, What gives? The overwhelming number of people asking me this are female, but I do receive correspondence from confused guys as well. The short answer goes something like; I can understand why you are confused; he is giving you a mixed message by (not) saying one thing and doing another. It is this mixed communication that gives rise to so much angst and to all those emails asking me to translate and interpret so they can know what is REALLY being said and what to do about it. Becoming a good communicator requires many different skills that involve both speaking and listening. In order to truly hear someone, it is necessary to listen to not only what they say, but also what they dont say. Non-verbal body language communicates about 73% of every message that we send to another person. When you really think about it, words can really get in the way- if you let them. Anyone can learn to be a more effective communicator, but it does take patience, along with some focused and consistent effort. In order to help you get started, the following tips will provide you with some basic guidelines and tools to assist you when it feels as though you are speaking in different tongues. * Pay attention to your instincts and that little voice that alerts you to something being off. This feeling is usually brought about by subtle changes in behavior, tone of voice, level of physical contact, posture and eye contact and verbal sharing. Too often these go ignored and/or are written off as due to a bad day or stressful life events. While this is certainly possible, if the behavior change seems sudden or continues over a period of time- something has changed in your relationship. * Dont ignore a sudden and persistent change in frequency and/or quality in your communication. If you have been dating someone who usually emails once or twice a day and calls several times a week- and this suddenly drops to no contact for a couple of days, without explanation- something has shifted in your relationship. If these kinds of shifts occur slowly, make sense in the context of what is going on in his/her life and you have talked about them- there is probably no need to raise the alarm. If he suddenly announces that he will be very tied up for the next few weeks (as he rushes out the door) - and gives no real explanation for his unavailability- something is probably up. If this is coupled with body language that says, stay back,- he will probably be tied up a lot longer than two or three weeks. * If he is telling you how much he likes/loves you and how much hed like to see you- but never has time, due to other commitments- he doesnt really want to see you that much. We make time for the things we want to do and that are important to us. No matter how busy we are- we are never too busy to pursue the people and things we care about. * If she begins spending a lot of time on the computer, gets a lot of phone calls and goes into another room to answer, and/or has many unexplained absences from the usual routine and places- something is up. Again, look for a pattern of behavior. Everyone has an off day or a problem they may have difficulty sharing, however, the situation should not persist without a clear and logical explanation. If you find yourself in a relationship with someone who begins to demonstrate the above behaviors, it will be important to address it directly with them if you hope to get to the truth. A good way to do this is to point out the changes you have observed and ask an open-ended question such as, Is there something we need to talk about. If your significant other avoids, puts off or minimizes the issue after you have raised it for more than a few days, you may need to ask for a specific time that the two of you can sit down together and talk about what is going on. If this request is met with silence, this is also an answer- though not the one you want to hear. The key to handling communication problems such as these is to never ignore or try to explain away your feelings- and dont delay in addressing them, hoping they will disappear on their own. A Fruitful Skin Renewal

By Jane Simpson Imagine browsing through skin care aisles and finding that one, perfect product that boasts of all-natural ingredients. Serendipity, right? Then you go and read the label expecting to find a virtual salad but instead finding yourself reading benzoic acid, butyl stearate, and some totally unpronounceable names. You’re no botanist but you’re sure that those stuff don’t grow on trees. This is because most commercial items meant for skin care nowadays contain preservatives and other chemicals to maintain their consistency and shelf life. Problem is, most of these chemicals can actually irritate more sensitive skin. What solution is there for this kind of crisis? Simple. Mix your own, homemade skin care line. There’s nothing to it as most ingredients are found in your fridge or fruit basket. All-natural skin recipes are easily found in the Internet or even in magazines. Usually, these skin care mixes are composed of a combination of one or two fruits. Combinations like these can include either the fruit pulp, fruit juice, or both. Milk, water or honey are usually added to smoothen the mixture. Add-ons such as oatmeal, wheat germ, brown sugar, and dried herbs are also included for more specialized concoctions such as a pimple treatment, flaking, and oily skin. Skin care using natural ingredients offers great variety. There are facial cleansers, scrubs, moisturizing creams, and face masks. Don’t worry because indications for use are usually found with the recipes. The recipes indicate whether the mixture is for normal, dry, oily, sensitive, and acne-prone skin. Some are even more specialized as blackhead removers or whitening solutions. Natural skin care routine have many advantages. First, the ingredients are easily available and the choices are great. They are also natural, thus, greatly reducing risks of allergies or skin irritations. Second, the ingredients are cheap, which translates into more savings more you. Third, you can modify the recipes to suit your needs. Since the risks for irritations are minimal, experimentations are relatively safe. Fourth, vitamins and antioxidants are naturally found in fruits, while milk and honey have restorative properties. Therefore, you get the same vitamins found in commercial products while limiting or eradicating chemicals. As these skin care recipes use natural ingredients they require refrigeration and can only keep for a week. However, it is better to make these in small quantities or batches for immediate use. In addition, these recipes contain natural hydroxy acids and vitamins for direct and instant skin rejuvenation. Also, don’t forget to keep fit by exercising, having a balanced, healthy diet and regular sleep. With these pre-requisites and your new skin care solutions, you’re on your way to having the healthy skin that can top what science can offer. Now, that’s what you call natural. Top 5 Mistakes To Avoid When Getting Used Car Auto Loans

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jim_Johnson]Jim Johnson Doing your homework before buying a used car can save you an incredible amount of money, especially since cars are one of the most expensive consumer items anyway. But many are not as well prepared as they should be when they get used car auto loans. For some reason, buyers seem to often let their guard down when it comes time to finance the car that they want, and here is where you can lose more money than almost anywhere else in the deal. So here are the top 5 mistakes that you want to avoid when getting used car auto loans: Mistake #1. Not knowing what your credit score is - Before you even begin shopping for your car, get a copy of your credit report and go over it very carefully. Your credit score will determine to a very large degree how much interest you will have to pay on your car loan. Unfortunately, it’s common to find errors in your credit report that do not work in your favor, so keep up to date on your credit report and get all errors removed immediately to get your best finance deals. Mistake #2. Not getting auto financing in advance - Once you have your credit score and know what kind of interest rate you can qualify for, shop around and line up used car auto loan financing before you visit the dealer or go shopping at all. You may want to visit your local bank that you do business with, or even your credit union as they tend to offer very good loan rates to their members. But don’t forget using the internet to get auto loan approval too. Many of the loan sites on the web are able to give you credit authorization within the same day so it’s quick and easy, and often saves money since you are dealing directly with the lender. Once you have advance financing in place you are now in position to bargain with the dealer on financing instead of just blindly accepting what they offer. Mistake #3. Allowing the dealer to obscure details of the car deal - Car dealers often want to mix up the numbers from all segments of the deal so it becomes confusing and hard to pin down exactly what kind of deal you are getting. Do not let them separate out the three distinct parts of most car deals, (1) the actual cost of the car being bought, (2) the actual amount being allowed for trade-in, and (3) the details of the finance contract if you decide to finance the car through them. Don’t let them get you focused on your monthly payment early in the buying process. Keep financing totally separate until the end and watch everything carefully. Mistake #4. Not going over the finance contract carefully before signing - If you decide to finance through the dealer it’s usually the last step in the process and it’s easy to be tired by this point and just want to get things over. But actually you need to be even more vigilant and review the loan contract thoroughly to be sure that you are getting the finance arrangements that you have bargained for and that no additional items were inserted into the deal that you did not already approve. Mistake #5. Going ahead with a financing deal even when you feel uncomfortable - If you ever start to feel uncomfortable with any part of the sales or financing part of buying your car, just walk away right then. Don’t let yourself be pressured into doing anything that you don’t feel totally comfortable with. Many consumers have been hounded into buying a car that they later regretted because of not heeding this advice. When getting used car loans, if you avoid the mistakes listed above you will be able to go a long way toward making sure that you get the right loan at the right price. Plastic Gift Bags

By Marcus Peterson Plastic gift bags are mostly used by people when they are gifting something to another person, on various occasions. These bags help people to carry the gifts easily and enhance the outward attractiveness of the packaging as well as the decoration of the gift. They are available in many colors and some are even occasion specific. Some common examples are birthday gift bags, anniversary gift bags, Christmas gift bags, New Year gift bags, Easter gift bags and the like. They have special colors, quotes or logos and designs which correspond to the special occasion. The bags also vary depending on what item is to be gifted. There are separate kinds of plastic gift bags for clothes, books and jewelry that are considered to be ideal for gifting purposes. The gift bags are generally available separately, however if a specific number of gifts are to be given for example during Christmas time, then separate bulk orders can be placed for particular types of gift bags. There are some kinds of plastic gift bags which are custom made for specific occasions or events and already include a few gift items when they are bought. The prices of the gift bags vary depending on the quality of the plastic from which they are made. However, these are not short of drawbacks. One major issue is that, like all other plastic bags, plastic gift bags too cannot endure heavy weight items. Another negative is that they don’t look as decorative and fancy as paper gift bags, thus bringing down the presentation standards of the gifts. Nevertheless, they continue to be quite popular and are used widely. What Plants Should You Use when Making a Terrarium?

By Will Kalif Here is a list and some tips on choosing plants to make a successful and beautiful terrarium. The ideal plants for a terrarium are small hardy plants that require only moderate sunlight and dont grow at all. And before you start selecting plants for your terrarium you have to have a good idea about how you will make your terrarium. Ask yourself two questions before purchasing plants: How big will the terrarium be and how much sunlight will it get? From these answers you will dramatically improve your chances of selecting the right plants for your project. Most plants will do very well in a terrarium so you dont have to worry too much about selection as far as health and hardiness goes. What you really have to consider is the growth of the plants and the aesthetic look of the plants. The Aesthetics of the Plants or how they look together Choose plants of different heights and leaf shapes and choose some plants with a splash of color. Your plants should compliment each other in that they give a nice variety. If all the plants are similar it makes for an uninteresting arrangement. When shopping for plants you should place them side by side in little arrangements to get a feel for how they will look in the same dish or bowl. Look for variety in height, leaf shape and color. When I am shopping for plants I also look for multiple plants in the same pot. It affords me the ability to break them up and spread them out in interesting arrangements. The Growth of the Plants This can be a bit tricky and all plants will grow if given the opportunity. But many plants will grow slowly or not at all and still thrive if they are potted and given only moderate amounts of sunlight and water. Here are some plants that do well in a terrarium: Palm Neanthe Bella - Low light and grows slowly and is very hardy Swedish Ivy - Very durable low care plant Bird Nest Sansivieria - Extremely hardy Irish moss - Makes nice groundcover Croton - Come in many bright colors but need a lot of light Pothos - Medium Light , nice shaped leaves Pitcher Plant - Carnivorous and has a nice exotic look Butterwort - Also carnivorous Miniature African violets - Adds nice color Cactus - High sunlight and sandy soil Aglaonema (Chinese evergreen) - Extremely hardy plant Aspidistra (Cast iron plant) As the name implies this is a very durable plant Herbs Have a nice added function of being edible (Don’t hesitate to use herbs like parsley, mint, chives, oregano or others in your terrarium. They tend to be hardy, stay small and often add a little bit of a nice aroma.)When making a terrarium plant selection is not too much of a worry because most of the typical plants you will find in a greenhouse or home improvement store have been selected for their hardiness. Consider more how they will look together and how much they will grow. Pure Hoodia

By Eric Morris The South African Research Institute, CSIR, started a study on Hoodia Gordonii, a succulent growing wild in the Kalahari Desert. This plant has a reputation amongst the San tribe as a hunger suppressant. They chew this plant during their long hunting expeditions to prevent hunger. CSIR isolated the active molecule, named it P 57 and patented it in 1997. They sold the rights to a British company, Phytopharm, in 1998 to test and market the product. In a double blind test, conducted by Phytopharm, 400 mg per day of Hoodia Gordonii powder, for 15 days, reduced the calorie intake by 1,000 compared to the control group. Capsules, pills, tincture and diet gum all followed. This obviously includes genuine as well fly-by-night operators. The only thing that they could not do is to claim that their product is an aid for weight loss. That would be a patent violation. So they market it as a food supplement. Phytopharm teamed with Pfizer of USA, a pharmaceutical MNC, to produce P 57 synthetically and market the same. But in 2004 Pfizer withdrew from the agreement, as it was not economically viable. One of the companies marketing the Hoodia capsule is Pure Hoodia, with a registered trademark. They claim that each capsule contains 400 mg of Pure Hoodia Gordonii, imported legally from South Africa, grown in privately owned farms. The recommended dose is 1-2 capsules an hour before each meal. They make no claim that it is a drug, but say that it is an all-natural dietary supplement. Truth Publishing, a website for independent consumer guidance, came out with a strong accusation against Pure Hoodia. They claim that tests done on Pure Hoodia by Alkanist pharmaceuticals, could not confirm the identity of Hoodia Gordoni. Pure Hoodia capsules do not have 400mg of powder, as claimed by the company, but less. Truth Publishing alleges that the same company also sells products under the brand names Hoodini and Slimtron. In view of the facts that Pfizer gave up the attempt for synthetic P 57 in 2004, it takes 5-7 years for the plant to mature, there is a limited amount of wild Hoodia in the Kalahari Desert and the trade in Hoodia is restricted by CITES, the guiding factor in Hoodia purchases should be consumer beware. Hoodia provides detailed information about hoodia, hoodia and weight loss, hoodia cactus, hoodia diet pills and more. Hoodia is the sister site of Ordering Phentermine Diet Pills. Stuttering Child

By Steve Hill Children can develop a stutter at an early age and for the parents it can be a very worrying time. It is difficult to know what to do. Parents wonder if it is just an age thing or just a phase. They think about whether to take their child to some form of speech therapy, however worry that that might be an over-reaction. I myself developed a stutter at the age of four or five. My mother had left work to look after me when I was born and I started to talk as normal. Everything was fine until I started school. My mother who now had more time on her hands decided to re-start work and I would now be going to a friend of the familys after school. This friend was called Jean and she had a son my age called Graham. On the first day I spent at her house everything was going well until Jean called us in for our evening meal. Meal times at my own house were a very relaxed affair, we were able to eat our food wherever we wanted to in the house. At Jean’s house they ate in a dining room around a dining table. There were a lot of people around the table who I did not know very well and eating in front of them all itself made me feel quite uncomfortable. During the meal people were asking me various questions and for whatever reason, I found it difficut to answer and started to stutter. This was the first day of my life as a stutterer. My parents a few months later took me to speech therapy, the speech therapist advised them that most children will grow out of their stutter. I continued unfortunatelt to stutter until I was twenty two. Stephen Hill Stephen Hill has overcome a stutter and now helps other people to achieve fluency. He has a website at http://www.stammering-stuttering.co.uk. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Steve_Hill http://EzineArticles.com/?Stuttering-Child&id=49885
